THE DAWNING of a new jazz concert series: "JAZZ AT THE CREEK", this Summer 2012!
This concert series is unique on the San Diego jazz scene in setting as well as purpose, and will afford you the opportunity to encounter Jazz enthusiasts from all across San Diego County, Southern California and neighboring states.
Three national acts are scheduled to headline: Darryl Williams (June 30), Marcus Johnson (July 21) and Jazz In Pink (August 11).
Jazz at the Creek will take place on Saturdays from 3:00pm – 6:00pm, with the doors opening at 2:00pm on June 30, July 21 and August 11, offering an intimate outdoor setting along the banks of Chollas Creek in the beautiful Market Creek amphitheater, where the stage is set into the creek bed. Great food, people, jazz music and the outdoors merge to bring an unforgettable experience!*
This series brings Jazz with a PURPOSE. It affords an opportunity for those who are community involved, as well as community jazz enthusiasts in general, to come together in a multicultural setting. In addition, a portion of the proceeds from Jazz at the Creek will go to the San Diego Food Bank's "Food 4 Kids Backpack Program" which provides food to chronically hungry elementary school students from low-income households who are at risk of hunger over the weekend when free school meals are unavailable.

Seating: The amphitheater has concrete, stepped seating with grassy areas where you may sit your fold-out chairs.
Take the Trolley - What Could be Easier! From downtown or as far east as Santee, take the Orange Line of the San Diego Trolley and exit at the Euclid Transit Station, which is adjacent to Market Creek Plaza and the Amphitheater.
